Driving AI Momentum in Malaysia’s Public Sector Interest in artificial intelligence (AI) across Malaysia’s public sector is accelerating, as shown during the AWS Public Sector Leaders Innovation Exchange: AI Edition held in Kuala Lumpur.
The event, hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), gathered more than 130 leaders from government, education, and healthcare to explore how AI can shape citizen-centric innovation and transform public services.
A highlight of the day was the announcement by Jabatan Digital Negara (JDN), delivered by YBrs. Ts. Puan Nik Zalbiha Nik Mat, signaling the government’s continued commitment to adopting advanced technologies in public administration.
Organisers noted that the exchange was designed to provide public sector leaders with insights, best practices, and real-world use cases of AI, helping them better understand how digital transformation can improve efficiency, responsiveness, and service delivery.
As Malaysia steps further into its digital era, initiatives like these reflect a growing momentum to position the country’s public sector at the forefront of AI-driven innovation in Southeast Asia.
